Our mom created this blog for us so we can keep our dogs and peeps up to date with what goes on in the Chiwawa Sisterhood. Thanks, Mom! Now if we can just get her to let us use the computer, we'll be in business! For now, we'll bark to her what we want to say. We are three Chihuahua, Chihuahua mix girls. Twiggy is the oldest at 14 years old, and she's a pure Chihuahua. Daisy is next, she just turned 3 in December, and she's a Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier mix. Lily is the baby at 2 years old, and she's a Chihuahua/Schipperke mix. (Note from Mom: We should say she's a Schipperke/Chihuahua mix cause she has more Schipperke characteristics than Chihuahua, but we wouldn't want her to feel left out of the sisterhood)
Twiggy: We are all beautiful and have such wonderful personalities - at least that's what Aunt Caye says. I call her that cause I used to live with her brother when he was alive. I've lived with Aunt Caye since March 2000. We've had such great fun and made so many beautiful memories. Aunt Caye calls me her brown-eyed girl. When she's being sarcastic, she calls me princess. I weigh 3 lbs - no matter what I eat or don't eat! Daisy is so jealous of that. She'll tell you why when its her turn to bark. I have kidney problems and have to eat this special prescription food to keep me healthy. Lately, though, Aunt Caye has added Wellness Venison to my food, and I love it! I eat the whole bowl, which is quite an accomplishment for me! Okay, Daisy - your turn...
Daisy: Wasup, dogs! I'm Daisy - I'm white with black spots and a nubby tail! When my tail wags it goes around in circles! I came to live with Mom and Twiggy in June, 2006, when mom adopted me from CAAWS, an animal rescue in Baton Rouge LA. I love my new home. When I first got here, there was a compost bin that I could take banana peels out of and run through the yard with mom chasing me! That was so much fun! Mom must not have felt the same way cause she put a fence up so I can't get in the compost bin anymore. So now I have to play with my chew toys. I'm okay with that cause I love my chew toys. I think every toy in the house is mine. My mom built two new porches since I came to live with her so we can lay in the sun on them. And she makes me such wonderful clothes. She calls me 'pretty girl' or Daisy Belle. I love to give kisses and if she rubs my belly I give real big kisses. I have lots of curves. Ashely, our vet, fusses at mom cause I weigh so much, but mom says she can't help feeding my beautiful face! Okay, Lily, I'll stop now. Your turn...
Lily: Hi, I'm the Wild Thing! I mean, Lily. Sometimes Lily Girl when mom talks to me. I came to live here in June, 2007. Mom got me from the same place she got Daisy. I'm all black except for a lightning bolt in white on my chest. And I don't have a tail. I have a bump and it wags a lot when mom gives out treats! I like it here - we have a ginormous backyard and a patio and porches (oh, yeah - Daisy told you about those). Anyway, Daisy didn't mention all the gardens! That's cause she doesn't know if you dig in those gardens lots of great bugs and worms come up and you can eat them! I have heartworms. The people who had me before I was adopted didn't take such good care of me. Mom's using the passive approach for now to get rid of them. I take a pretty strong heartworm preventative every month, and she's hoping that will kill them off. So, I couldn't go outside a lot when I first got here. When I did, there were squirrels to chase, lizards to catch and eat, and even toads! I caught two toads last summer and had so much fun throwing them all over the yard and throwing toad guts everywhere - even on me! Mom wasn't too happy about that, and the Wild Thing had to get a bath everytime!
Well, that's a pretty short description of who we are. We're glad to be here! Sniffs and Wags - The Girls
